Plain answers about your data.
Your house is yours. Your information about it is, too. Here's exactly what Kempt knows and exactly what it does with it.
The minimum to do the job.
Your address, the equipment you've told us about (boiler model, water heater age, filter sizes, that one window that sticks), and the photos you've sent us when we asked.
That's it. We don't pull your purchase history, your social profiles, your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps on your phone.
We don't sell, share, or rent your data. Ever.
- We don't sell your address, equipment, or photos to insurers, contractors, or anyone else.
- We don't share your data with advertisers or run ad networks against it.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites. No third-party trackers, no fingerprinting.
- We don't keep your data after you delete your account. Export it as a PDF first if you want a copy.
On your phone first. On the server only when needed.
Most of your house's information lives on your phone. The minimum we keep on the server is what's needed to send your Brief and remember your house when you switch devices: the address, equipment notes, and photos.
Encrypted in transit, encrypted at rest. Hosted in the United States. The full privacy policy and terms of service have the formal language.
Why this matters to me.
I built Kempt for myself and my wife first, and I built it the way I'd want my own data handled. No tricks, no quiet uploads of my photos to train someone else's model. Your house is yours. Kempt's job is to help you keep it that way.
