What Kempt keeps, and why.
Your email, so you can sign in. Your address. The appliances and photos you add. Your jobs, your Sunday Briefs, and the questions you ask Kempt. Whether your subscription is active.
Kempt also counts how the app gets used, like which screens get opened, tied to an account number instead of your name or email. That's how we find what's broken.
We don't collect your phone number, your GPS location, your contacts, your social profiles, or anything from other apps on your phone.
We don't sell or rent your data. Ever.
- We don't sell your address, equipment, or photos to insurers, contractors, or anyone else.
- We don't share your data with advertisers or run ad networks against it.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites. Kempt shows no ads and uses no advertising identifiers.
- Delete your account and your house's record goes with it: the home, appliances, jobs, photos, and notes, with backups cleared within 30 days. Two things stay: a record that the account was deleted, with its email address, and usage counts at the analytics service for up to 7 years. Export your house first if you want a copy.
On Kempt's servers, in the United States.
Your house's record lives on Kempt's servers, tied to your account. That's how it follows you to a new phone, and how Kempt writes your Brief while the app is closed. Your phone keeps your sign-in and a few settings.
A few outside services each handle one job. Anthropic writes the plan and the Brief, reads appliance labels, and answers your questions. It doesn't train on your data. Resend sends the email. RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription.
Encrypted in transit and at rest. The full privacy policy names every outside service and what each one receives, and the terms of service have the rest of the formal language.
Why this matters to me.
I built Kempt for myself and my wife first, and I built it the way I'd want my own data handled. No tricks, no quiet uploads of my photos to train someone else's model. Your house is yours. Kempt's job is to help you keep it that way.
