How it works

Four minutes, and Kempt's got the house.

You give Kempt the house. Kempt gives you a Sunday Brief, the right reminders at the right moments, and exactly what to do when the weather turns.

01

Learns the house.

Give Kempt the address. From there it figures out the build year, the climate, the storm history, and the typical things that go wrong on a house like yours.

Then walk it through the basics: the boiler brand, the filter sizes, the gutters, the windows that stick. Three or four photos. Skip what you don't know. Kempt will ask later.

About four minutes. Then Kempt takes it from there.

"Your water heater is nine years in. A yearly drain buys you three or four more."

02

Keeps the calendar.

Air filters, gutters, the water heater, the dryer vent, smoke alarms, GFCI tests, the seasonal stuff. Kempt tracks all of it in your house's calendar.

Every Sunday morning, you get the Brief in the app: what got done this week, what's coming up in the next two weeks, what to look ahead to. The day a task is due, you get one push notification. The part number is in there, the size, where to find the thing in the house. Nothing more on the lock screen than you need.

"Air filter due Saturday. The 16×25×1 above the return vent."

03

Sees things coming.

A freeze, a heat wave, a storm, that quiet drip you mentioned in March. Kempt watches the weather and the calendar so you don't have to.

The day before something matters, Kempt takes over the screen with Pre-Disaster Mode: the three things to actually do, in order of leverage. No scrolling, no menus. Just what to do before bed.

"Freeze Thursday night. Three things to do today, in order of leverage."

Frequently

Questions that come up.

If yours isn't here, write us. We read everything.

Does Kempt work for an apartment or condo?

Yes. The list is shorter (no roof, no boiler, often no yard) but the small things still matter. The dryer vent, especially in stack buildings. The under-sink supply lines. The smoke alarm batteries. The seasonal filter swap. Kempt scopes to what you actually own.

Do I need to be handy?

No. About half of what Kempt surfaces is "do this in ten minutes" stuff. Change the filter, clear the aerator, test the GFCI. The other half is "call this person before the season changes." Either way you'll know what it is, what it costs, and whether it's urgent.

How often will I hear from Kempt?

One Sunday Brief a week, in the app. One push the day a task is due. One Pre-Disaster takeover when the weather demands it, usually three or four times a year. Quiet otherwise. Settings let you turn any of it down.

Where does my data live?

On your phone, mostly. The minimum needed on the server to send your Brief and remember your house: the address, equipment notes, and any photos you've sent. Never sold, never shared with insurers or contractors. Full details on the trust page.

Is Kempt artificial intelligence?

It's a notebook with opinions and a good memory. There's modern software underneath, sure. But the part you'll notice is the writing, the timing, and the specifics. Those come from people who've changed a lot of filters.

Hand it over when Kempt opens.
