Kempt looks up what's on record for the house: the year it was built, the size, and the climate where you live.
Then it asks two questions. How long have you lived there, and how much do you do yourself? That's enough to build a first-year plan and show what keeping up could save.

02Do one job at a time.
Today shows the one job worth doing next, with its date and about what it saves. Mark it done, or move it to Saturday.
Kempt sends a reminder three days ahead and another at 8 in the morning on the day it's due. Stuck on a job? Ask Kempt about it, right in the app.

03Snap the label on the furnace.
On the House tab, take a photo of the nameplate. Kempt reads the make and model and puts the unit on file. The water heater, the fridge, and the dishwasher work the same way.

Does Kempt work for an apartment or condo?
Yes. The list is shorter (no roof, no gutters, often no yard) but the small things still matter. The dryer vent, especially in stacked buildings. The under-sink supply lines. The smoke alarm batteries. The filter swap. Kempt leaves off the outside jobs and keeps the ones that are yours.
Do I need to be handy?
No. Many jobs take ten minutes: change the filter, clear the aerator, test the GFCI. Others are worth calling a pro, and Kempt says which. Setup asks how much you do yourself, and the plan follows your answer.
How often will I hear from Kempt?
A reminder three days before a job is due, and another the morning it's due. The Sunday Brief once a week, on Sunday evening. Quiet otherwise. You can turn off reminders or the Brief in Settings.
Where does my data live?
On Kempt's servers, tied to your account: your address, your appliances, your jobs, and your notes. You can read and edit what's on file, and export your house's record anytime. Never sold, never shared with insurers or contractors. Full details on the trust page.
Is Kempt artificial intelligence?
Yes, in part. Kempt uses AI to build your plan, read appliance labels, write the Sunday Brief, and answer questions about your house. It's a helpful assistant, not a licensed contractor. Treat what it suggests as a starting point, and call a pro for the big jobs.
